Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit, such as whether you are logged in, and to function correctly across page loads.

2. Cookies we use

Parkyng uses a single, strictly necessary cookie. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.

3. What data does the session cookie contain?

The parkyng_session cookie contains an opaque, cryptographically random token. It does not store any personal data, identifiers, or browsing behaviour directly. The token is hashed using SHA-256 before being stored in our database and is used solely to retrieve your session on the server.

The cookie is set with the following security attributes:

  • HttpOnly — not accessible from JavaScript, reducing XSS risk
  • Secure — transmitted over HTTPS only
  • SameSite=Lax — protects against CSRF attacks
  • Path=/ — valid across the entire domain

4. Third-party cookies

Parkyng does not set any third-party cookies. When you purchase credits via Stripe, you are redirected to Stripe's hosted payment page, which may set its own cookies governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. We have no control over those cookies.

5. Consent

The parkyng_session cookie is strictly necessary for the platform to function. Under applicable data protection law (including the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR), strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent. No cookie banner is displayed because we set no non-essential cookies.

6. Managing and deleting cookies

You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling the session cookie will prevent you from remaining logged in to Parkyng.

To delete your session cookie and log out, simply click Log out in the navigation menu. This invalidates the session both on your device and in our database.

7. Data retention

Session records in our database are automatically invalidated after 30 days of inactivity or upon logout. Expired sessions are purged from our systems on a rolling basis.
